The Grosse Pointe Artists Association is displaying artwork inspired by Michigan's rivers and lakes at its gallery in Grosse Pointe Farms.
"My Michigan: Our Rivers, Our Lakes" opened Oct. 1 and runs through Dec. 4 at the War Memorial campus, 32 Lake Shore Drive. Admission is free.
The exhibition asks artists to interpret Michigan's "Water Wonderland" slogan through their work, according to the association's official exhibition announcement.
Artist and park ranger Alex Gilford served as the exhibition's juror. The association identified Gilford in its call for entries and scheduled a gallery talk for the opening day.
The exhibition continues a theme the association has explored in previous years, focusing on the state's lakes and rivers.
The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the association's website. Visitors can call (313) 881-3454 for information.
The association also offers "A Morning Out," a drop-in art session at the War Memorial. Sessions take place on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 10:30 a.m. to noon, according to the War Memorial's event listing.
